Experimentation framework for wireless communication systems under jamming scenarios

Cyber-physical systems (CPS) integrate control, sensing, and processing into interconnected physical components to support applications within transportation, energy, healthcare, environment, various other areas. Secure reliable wireless communication between devices is necessary enable the widespread adoption of these emerging technologies. must be protected against active threats, such as Radio Frequency (RF) Jammers, which intentionally disrupt links. Jamming detection mitigation techniques evaluated extensively validate algorithms prior full implementation. Challenges related obtaining zoning permits, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certification for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Communications Commission (FCC) licencing lead evaluation limited simulation-based or simplistic, non-representative hardware experimentation. A site-specific ray-tracing emulation framework presented provide a realistic under RF jamming attacks in complex scenarios involving mobility, vehicular, UAV systems. System architecture capabilities are provided test, real-world adversaries, channel modelling, emulation. Case studies demonstrate use different threats.
